Khabarovsk region, a region consisting of Amur basin area and Okhotsk Sea - Japan Sea coast area, covers a total area of near 95,000 km^2.

Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.

We are living in this wonderful region. We hope and believe, that slow-food and healthy feeding must be of basing ration of people eating. We are understanding haw its to release on traditional culture feeding and aquaculture development and propagation. Our region are rich of culture aboriginal traditions and fishing resources. We have many fresh fish and sea-delicacy products - algae and other hydrobiots. We begin to work in that economic industry many years ago, since the USSR time. We have original scientific research and state patents on aquaculture and healthy feeding technologies. We and our partners are fighting for ecology and environmental safety of nature.

Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.

Khabarovsk region is located in the Far East of Russia. The region has the Amur River and the long sea coast (The Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan).  A map of the territory is attached. Traditionally, people, especially natives of the Far East, consumed a lot of fish and other seafood. Now there is a steady increase in demand, interest and a return to the consumption of traditionally food. The climate in the region is moderate. In summer it is hot, humid, temperatures are more than 30 degrees Celsius. Winter is cold, the temperature drops to minus 20-30 degrees Celsius, rivers and seas are covered with ice. The recent population is stable. The territory is inhabited by representatives of different peoples, dominated by Russians. The Aboriginal population is represented by the Nanais, the Ulchs, the Nivkhs, the Udegeians and others - a total of more than 20,000 people. The main language of inter-ethnic communication is Russian. The majority of the population lives in cities. The largest city is Khabarovsk, with 600,000 people. The Aboriginal population lives mainly in small settlements along the Amur River and on the sea coast. People's interest in traditional culture and healthy eating is growing. Agriculture is represented by crop production (specific culture - soybeans), livestock (bird breeding and dairy farming), forestry, fishing and aquaculture. The people's hopes are connected with the development of the healthy food industry, environmental cleanliness and investment programs for the development of the region. Traditional nutrition was the healthiest for people. New fast food and poor quality products from China lead to diseases, obesity and other problems.

Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.

The problem of eco-friendly, wholesome nutrition is a topical one all over the world, and every year it becomes more and more acute. The fact that the world crisis of the middle ages is inevitably confirmed by the whole development of the economy of the 21st century, when transnational corporations managing the world are inflating financial bubbles and in pursuit of super profits are sacrificing the ecology of the planet, the psyche of people, and pursue a policy that can be called a hidden genocide, because in how the environment on the planet has changed, how the food and diet of modern man, there is not only social indifference, but also a deliberate plan to reduce the population of the world. Modern nutrition (and not just fast food) acts as a weapon of mass destruction, and the development of the food industry is like total war, in which the main victim is often a healthy environment, healthy traditions and human relations; and this war, which uses all kinds of weapons, tactical and strategic maneuvers, is capable of destroying the entire human civilization.

The next 30 years will be largely predetermining and decisive for human civilization. It will not only be due to the fact that numerous bubbles will burst, and little will remain of the familiar financial system. Catastrophic events will be compounded by global climate change, natural and man-made disasters, epidemics, wars and social explosions. Under these conditions, the food problem for millions of people will be a factor in survival, and it will be difficult to find not only healthy and environmentally friendly food and clean water, but clean water in general, as many water sources, soils and landscapes will be poisoned and radioactive.

As an ark of salvation for those who are rescuing from disasters and will create the foundations of a new civilization, the territory of Siberia and the Russian Far East is predetermined. It is here that the climate will be favorable, clean waters, clean landscapes, and it is here that the souls of people of the new age will gather.

Nowadays the eastern territories of Russia look wild and sparsely populated, but it turns out that there are advantages in it, because the natural purity, wisdom of people's traditions, and those riches that are reserved for future generations for their careful, rational use have been preserved.

In order to achieve this goal, a comprehensive program for the development of the region should be carried out, first and foremost, the development of the agro-industrial sector.

The program for aquaculture development will have a qualitatively favourable effect on the living standards of the Far East population, on the health of the population, on the demography of the region, on the development of international cooperation and on reducing the threats of the forthcoming food crisis.

Aquaculture - those biological species whose native habitat is the aquatic environment (fresh or salt water). Aquaculture includes: fish, marine mammals, molluscs, crustaceans, other aquatic animals as well as algae and other aquatic plants.

Aquatic organisms, from giant animals to plankton, are biologically valuable for human health. They contain nutrients, healthy proteins, unsaturated fatty acids, various vitamins and trace elements. Aquatic organisms are widely used in the national cuisines of the peoples of the earth, and various delicious dishes are prepared from them, including delicious ones.

Preparations from aquaculture are used for prevention and treatment of many diseases of the century: heart vascular diseases, oncology, metabolic disorders, endocrine diseases, immunodeficiency, they contribute to elimination of toxic substances, heavy metals and radioactive isotopes from the organism. They are useful for male and female health, useful for children, promote longevity.

In the industrial reproduction of aquaculture, it is possible to obtain a large yield of biomass from small amounts, at relatively low energy and other costs, production is practically waste-free (waste is processed for animal feed and agricultural fertilizers).

There are a number of favorable factors that will contribute to the industrial production and processing of aquaculture in the eastern region of Russia:

The basin of the Amur River forms many rivers and lakes with clean water suitable for aquaculture production. The Sea of Okhotsk is rich in biodiversity and ecological purity.

Aquaculture is the basis for nutrition of the Priamurye aboriginal peoples, they have many recipes of fish cuisine, as well as Russian people; development of aquaculture in Priamurye will contribute to the development of national villages and all infrastructure of Khabarovsk Krai.

3. The programs of the Far Eastern hectare, which is ahead of the development of the Eastern regions of Russia and others, will contribute to the development of small, medium and large businesses - aquaculture production and processing.

4. There are good logistic conditions for the sale of products in Russia and abroad, and foreign countries are interested in obtaining Russian products as the cleanest and most environmentally friendly.

5. There is an experience of fish farming since the times of the USSR; there are experienced personnel and scientific apparatus for aquaculture production and processing.

 The understanding of all these opportunities allows us to count on the real economic success of the aquaculture development program, which will qualitatively favorably affect the living standards of the Far East people, the health of the population and the demography of the region, the development of international cooperation, and to reduce the threats of food crisis in case of unfavorable developments.

High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.

The amount of fish caught from natural reservoirs is decreasing due to environmental degradation, overfishing and poaching. That is why the interest in aquaculture has increased so much over the last century, specifically for the cultivation and cultivation of fish, algae, shellfish and crustaceans. Aquaculture should be the basis of our project. The main breeding facilities are salmon and sturgeon fish, marine invertebrates and algae. In order to provide a variety of aquaculture products, the region's population will need about $200,000,000 of capital investment to develop factories and fish farms. An example of a sturgeon farm calculation is below. It is also necessary to equip a network of processing and power points with a quality product throughout the region. Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?

According to Rosstat, the population of Khabarovsk in 2018 was 618150 people. The increase in the number of people is about 2000 people per year. The citizens of Khabarovsk consume about 30 kg of fish and fish products per year. Thus, the demand of Khabarovsk residents in fish and fish products per year is about 18 thousand tons. Within the framework of the Project it is planned to deliver the products to the whole Khabarovsk Territory, Russia and foreign partners.

The aim of the Project is to maximize profits from its implementation, but also to achieve socially positive objectives that will contribute to the reproduction of biodiversity in the natural environment. To this end, the Project is implementing the following tasks:

- To grow fish from the best biological material (fry) using only natural feed without GMOs, without growth stimulants and other hazardous chemicals.

- To use the most modern technologies of fish breeding and fish processing, confirmed by scientific research and quality certificates.

- To the maximum extent possible to use material and human resources of the Khabarovsk Territory. (Practically all technological equipment will be manufactured at the enterprises of the Krai. The original software of Khabarovsk programmers will be used in automation. Gradually, it is planned to switch over to the use of local fodder from bioresources of the Khabarovsk Krai. In the course of the Project implementation, new jobs will be created for the inhabitants of the region (including aborigines of the Far East), and local specialists will be involved first of all.

- Strict sanitary, veterinary and biological control over the quality of products will be implemented.

- Expanding production, the range of products will also increase and the sales volume will increase. This will make it possible to systematically reduce the price of products, so that fish products, other seafood and food based on them will be available to the majority of residents of the region, including citizens with average incomes.

By solving the tasks set, we will achieve maximum profitability of our project, meet the current demands of consumers for the products offered to us and improve the environmental situation in the Russian Far East.

The project involves breeding fish of various species.

The assortment of planned products:

- Live fish.

- Frozen fish (whole and sliced).

- Frozen fish in vacuum packaging (steaks etc.).

- Smoked fish.

- Caviar.

            Additional assortment:

- Fish food.

- Fry sturgeon fish.

- Fish by-products.

-Fish cutlets, dumplings, etc.

It is possible to expand the range of products.

It is planned to produce shellfish, crustaceans and other sea creatures, which will be delivered to the table of Far East fishermen as seafood delicacies: of high quality and at relatively low prices.

Algae breeding and processing are planned. Creation of a wide range of food products on their basis as well as biologically active additives and other products.

Interest in domestic (local) products is dictated not only by patriotism, but also by expectations of higher quality of this product at affordable prices. The consumer expects that the domestic product is environmentally friendly, without the use of hazardous technologies. Numerous studies by scientists (including those from TINRO in the Far East) have revealed that most river and seafood products from Russia are superior in quality, content and balance of substances useful for human health than similar products from foreign manufacturers, and, in most cases, this is determined even by taste, and fish delicacies from Russian manufacturers usually receive the highest marks from gourmets and specialists.

Based on the noted trends. We can count on the Far East of Russia to occupy one of the leading positions in the world in aquaculture production, in introduction and distribution of healthy products to the population, both in Russia and worldwide.

The development of aquaculture in Khabarovsk Krai will also serve as a guarantee of food security in the face of global crises.
