To connect local, new generation, farmer entrepreneurs with global ,next generation ,technologies.
Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.
This place has unique history of entrepreneurship- first generation entrepreneurs are farmer capitalists. I have written book on them (www.motguru.com). Now, want to continue work on the vision articulated in my book.
Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.
My book covers many aspects of Andhra people. Available as E Book:
Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.
Cereals Rice and Wheat were introduced with canal irrigation less than 150 years back. Now,the population is considered diabetic friendly due to food habits and changing life style. Government policy is to take care of people's health with hospital care policy. The food habits, life style, state policy tinker with this major problem of diet, low agricultural productivity, high number of unemployed STEm graduates and neglect of public health.
Address the Challenges: Describe how your Vision will address the challenges described in the previous question.
Old generation farmers are poor adopters of new technology. new technology available globally to raise productivity, increase income of farmers, reduce field to market loss, improve nutrition. University agriculture extension centers have run out of steam. Next generation farm entrepreneurs need to be groomed with pilot demonstration across the state. Sustainability comes when the business model of this entrepreneur class finds it supporting self employment.
High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.
Food processing will be on farm.value added food products will be picked up from decentralised, modular process units.Traditional trade intermediaries will be replaced by Farmer entrepreneurs with roots in the soil but vision in the sky.
Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?
Coastal districts of India have propensity to diabetics. Pilot in Andhra Pradesh will be diffused in other state. Diabetics is selected as it represents combination of diet, genes, life style and directly impacts health , indirectly state subsidy, farm demand away from rice to jowar etc.
