Rangpur is a district in Bangladesh which is located in the northern part of Bangladesh. Rangpur city is the divisional headquarters. The composition of the soil is mainly sedimentary soil (5%) of the Teesta river basin and the rest is barind soil. Temperatures range from 32 ° C to 11 ° C and the average rainfall is 2931 mm. Rangpur city lies on the bank of the river Ghaghat, covering an area of about 20 sq km and in 1818 it was converted into a municipality. Establishment of Rangpur City Corporation, Divisional City is now under way after the establishment of Rangpur Division in January 2010
Bangladesh has a humid subtropical climate. The K শ্রেণীppen-Geiger climate classification is Cwa. Bangladesh climate is usually characterized by monsoon, high temperatures, adequate humidity and heavy rainfall. The summer season begins in early April and continues until July. The average annual temperature in Bangladesh is 24.9 ° C (76.8 ° F). About 2,192 mm (86.30 inches) of precipitation falls annually.
VDC is working with multiple stakeholders in Rangpur to ensure their sovereignty over livelihoods and food security. During this period, one of the main sub-district 'Mithapuku Upazila' was declared as a safe food upazila. Mithapukur Safe Food Upazila has been jointly announced by the local government and VDC. About 5,000 farmers of the upazila provide safe food, including rice, vegetables, pulses and oil seeds. Therefore, there is potential for the production of safe food upazilas in Mithapukur and for providing safe food for the counselors.

Farmers, fishers, youth, women and socially disadvantaged are the main partners.
Farmers are practicing environmental agriculture without the use of any pesticides and most of the organic fertilizers.
Ecosystem farmers have a seed network where they store about 100 local varieties of cereal crops, vegetables, pulses and oil seeds. The food grains of this local breed are very tasty and nutritious.
Climate change is one of the major threats to the people of the region. Environmental farmers in the Safe Food Upazila have selected some crops for cereals and vegetables that are suitable for the changing climate. Now VCC is involved in expanding this climate smart food crop for larger regions and more beneficiaries for greater promotion.
Due to the discontinuation of the use of pesticides, aquatic species is growing in different types and quantities. So the Fisher people are happily joining the VDC intervention.
People are very happy to announce safe food upazila with the participation of local government organizations. People are now consuming safe food and safe food is dreaming of ensuring their safe food from the upazila.
It has been found that foodborne diseases are slowly deceiving and improving the health of the people in general.

One of the major challenges that people use for pesticides and chemicals is their farming. On the other hand, indigenous knowledge is a big challenge as the smart, productive and climate smart local breeds are slowly declining. SS

High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.
Involve the private sector and CSOs, involving the relevant government authorities to strengthen the security of food security through the involvement of multiple stakeholders and their collective action.
Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?
Environment: About 40 farmers are practicing environmental agriculture without the use of chemicals. Environmental farming practices are environmentally friendly now other stakeholders are becoming interested in what could be a safe diet for everyone in the future.
Diet: Farmers are now producing safe food and maintaining diversity including cereals, pulses, oil crops, vegetables and spices. This will contribute to the dietary balance and diet balance for humans by enriching genetic resources and biodiversity.
Economy: Farmers are using mixed crops, crop rotation and organic fertilizers. So the cost of production there is gradually decreasing and the total productivity is increasing. Thus, environmental agricultural practices are economically viable and productive.
Culture: Farmers are collecting, preserving and reproducing different varieties of crops with the collaborative knowledge that maintains this diversity can be helpful for culture trends.
Principle: Environmental agricultural practices are environmentally friendly, inevitably effective and culturally rich. Bangladesh has developed a new policy on organic agriculture. Therefore, the practical experience and practices of environmental agriculture should contribute to the natural agricultural policy.
