A Dar es salaam city covers an area of more than 4 million citizens,it's largest city in East Africa and 7th largest in Africa.

What country is your selected Place located in?

Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.

I was born and raised in Dar es salaam City.

Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.

Dar es salaam city located at Swahili coast,it has international airport, international port, international banks as well as hotels of 5 stars.Main food are rice,beans,fish and meat.People are enjoying snacks such as fish, octopus with roasted potatoes.There are plenty of food vendors along with sugar cane juice machines that gives this city a state of healthy booster.

What is the estimated population (current 2020) in your Place?


Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.

The challenges that we have is insufficient food storage and lack of food processing plants that can add value.In the 2050 the demand for food shall be very high while food products may be less.

Address the Challenges: Describe how your Vision will address the challenges described in the previous question.

My vision will address the need to have small and medium plants owned by groups of farmers after getting training and soft loans from agricultural banks.Will Target youth and graduates from vocational trainings and universities.

High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.

After one session of crop harvest and processed,the groups of food manufactures will have steady income ,that will nourish their system exonomical and socially.They will be able to pay for their daily bills.

Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?

This vision will create a green life by irrigation projects,good and safe food, income generating,technical know how,as well as to assist with the agricultural and food policy governed by Ministry of Agriculture.Groups from villages,with support from our organization can acquire knowledge on irrigation,food processing and marketing.Ministry of Agriculture with University of Agriculture (SUA),and Small Industries Development Organization will be invited to collaborate.
