A large city where people feel disconnected from food and wish to get closer to it. There is a growing movement of community farms and shops and the desire to consume sustainable local produce.

Growth in obesity especially amongst children and low income households increase, growing wealth inequality. Increase in social enterprise movement, increase in community business movement.

A world where consumers feel connected to and proud of the food they eat and can trace food to its producers. A world where healthier food is more affordable and accessible and where people care about the food that they eat and feel connected to it and able to incorporate food production and cooking into their daily lives.

Systems change actors like funders, incubators, food enterprises and supermarkets will come together to enable shorter supply chains and food hubs where communities can directly access food at its source.
