Lead Applicant: In what city or town are you located?

Dar es salaam city

Lead Applicant: In what country are you located?

United Republic of Tanzania

Your Selected Place: what’s the name of the Place you’re developing a Vision for?

United Republic of Tanzania

What country is your selected Place located in?

I am a native young entrepreneur who aspires to help feeding the nation by making available to the local market affordable table eggs.

Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.

I have selected Dar es salaam city in particular because I have lived here for almost more than ten years and I have seen how large percentage if families are suffering in feeding their families and I want to bring the solution of poultry meat and table eggs. Besides the local residents feed mostly on chicken and chips but they don't eat eggs in families and I want to make sure I help them feed their kids with eggs and chicken meat.

Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.

The estimated populations are close to seven millions come 2020. The urban or dar life is very complex ranging from workers, labourers and student life. I wantno carter for all these groups. While the working and non working community would struggle to feed their families but they need to eat during working hours and hence our high quality table eggs and chicken meat will add value to the food sellers because these are the most consumed food stuff and there has been no large scale producers

What is the estimated population (current 2020) in your Place?

Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.

My food systems will be highly facing urbanisation challenges because we will be producing chicken from secluded places near dar Es salaam and due to the over population and migration to the cities from villages our farms may be found surrounded bybmanybpaople and that's very dangerous as it may catalyze poultry diseases die to contamination in one way or another

Address the Challenges: Describe how your Vision will address the challenges described in the previous question.

The stareegy would be to acquire vast range, survey and fence the area then use the area in the middle for production so as to minimize risks. Also sustainability of parent stock farms in Europe and america will be thoroghky checked before we cannpirchase a large sum if birds and or we may buy from different farms sources and breed them in different breeder farms

High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.

The lives of the people would be different in many ways. First they will be assured of commodities for trade as they will be purchasing day old chicks from our hatchery at a cheaper price and sell at a higher price and hence earn a living. In trading on table eggs as well they will be getting their daily bread from proceeds of the business. The manure we are producing is sold to peasants and when we produce in large scale they will be assured of manure for their vegetables gardens and and their market as we do purchase veggies sometimes to feed our chicken.

Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?

As explained above we will increase opportunities for trade while effecting the economies of the people around our area. And once the market is of high value what we consume may be coming from surrounding games and gardens and hence effect the economies of the people around our area and that of the people we may be payingbsalaries after we employ a large number for a high scale production.

Hi Deogratius Nsanzugwanko  Welcome to the Prize Community!
It is amazing to see a Vision using something as simple as an egg to reimagine the nutrition, economy and culture of a region.
Have you had a chance to research the dreams and aspirations of stakeholders in Tanzania's Food System in 2050?
Since your Vision will be designed specifically for the Place and People you’ve selected, it will be very valuable to understand the needs, aspirations, motivations, and challenges of your Place and its People. You can find some inspiration and tools to help you with your research in the Vision Prize Toolkit in Chapter 3 under Tools of Transformation.
Here's the link to the Prize Toolkit:

Look forward to seeing your Vision evolve in the coming weeks.
