Your Selected Place: what’s the name of the Place you’re developing a Vision for?

The total Supermarket retail space in Europe is over 500 000 000 sqm big. We waste 88 Billion kg each year,50%

What country is your selected Place located in?

Retail space is located all across Europe, please check Including Russia in EU, over 655,9 Million use Supermarkets

Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.

Coockeroo started out as the way to experience each other's cultures as well as understand one another through food.

Booking a private chef to experience her/his private culture through his/her beloved meal based on your natural preferences is a convenient exciting new way to experience each other cultures.

But who will do the shopping?

You will need an intelligent shopping tool to find products for your booked chef locally.

At that point, the background and knowledge of Coockeroo's team kicked in, we decided to pivot.

With such a powerful tool and its collected data, we could adapt local stores product supply to local consumers demand and drastically reduce food waste by the data collected.

Raising awareness on food waste & easing the access to balanced nutrition for us consumers are the goals achieved through our software suite.

We, at Coockeroo, reduce food waste & maximize retailers as well as producers profits by matching supermarket product supply to local consumer demand through statistical analysis via our App, existing datasets as well additional data sets of producers

Coockeroo collects consumer data through our shopping app and ad multiple data pipelines of atrify, amazon, google and social media to our data sets and those of the retailer (Erp, loyalty cards, webstore) to get a clear idea of the local customer persona.

The retailer buys our SaaS CRM and gets easy access to local customer persona.       We adapt the local store assortments to the local consumer through Python ML.

This creates a second revenue stream because producers pay us royalties to allocate their products perfectly into retailers shelves while maximizing revenues and customer happiness.

In our case, the adaptation of the local products to the local consumers optimizes the store in such a way that food waste is prevented from existing.

Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.

The biggest issue in retail is the how a Brick and Mortar Store is set up and its way to communicate in one direction, not listening to customers feedback, which subsequently leads to losses in revenue as well as massive overproduction and therefore food waste.

In Microeconomics there is a model of why price competition occurs between two businesses located next to each other, the famous hot dog stand example.

"....If there is only one hot dog stand, the business owner can place it wherever he wants along the street–in the example, he places it at the far west side of the street–because the workers have no choice but to visit the single hot dog stand that exists. However, if hot dog stand #2 enters the fray, the two competing hot dog stands will gradually inch more and more toward the middle of the street until they are back-to-back, and one hot dog stand dominates the entire east side of the street while the other hot dog stand dominates the entire west side of the street.

The known as the “Principle of Minimum Differentiation” and is a common strategy among companies selling commodity goods and services. All the competitors “inch toward the middle” so that there is very little resistance or switching cost to jump to one’s product from a competitor’s product, especially since the consumer has learned to accept a baseline set of characteristics from that specific goods market."

The only way for one Hot dog stand / Brick and Mortar store to win is to drastically optimize its assets and cut prices by optimizing his cost structure "whatever it takes".

The Hot Dogs stands / Brick and Mortar stores will try to find suppliers who are willing to sell their goods at the lowest price possible, reduce quality optimize logistics to the maximum and minimize labour costs.

The Hot Dog stand / Brick and Mortar owner with the deepest pockets and the best cost structure wins the competition because he will be able to undercut prices and operate at a loss the longest then his competitor.

Now that he is Hot Dog / Brick and Mortar monopolist, he can drive the price as he wishes, and even out the losses occurred through competition.

But where are we consumers in all this?

What if everyone could win by simply asking consumers " ...and what's for you?".

Let's suppose you are leaving on a Saturday to do your groceries.

You spent some time at a coffee shop & window shop before deciding to do your grocery shopping.

Next to you, there is an All-In-One Store around.

But suddenly, your plans have changed due to a call. You will pick up family on the way home.
Next to your destination is an expensive organic food store.

As a family, the incentive to go shop in the organic store is higher than going all the way back to the All-In-One store.

This happens 1 000 000 times a day with different complexities.

Economics has a name for this:

Product Differentiation Strategy.

What is the estimated population (current 2020) in your Place?

Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.

The only way to bring our economies more productivity is to be resource-efficient, collect data on resource/product allocation & reduce trash/overproduction to respect the planet as well as its resources as well as ourselves.

But therefore, we at Coockeroo are accountable for the change through our software suite in the FMCG Food Retail sector.

To cite the book innovators dilemma from Clayton M. Christensen:

"The reason [for why great companies failed] is that good management itself was the root cause. Managers played the game the way it’s supposed to be played. The very decision-making and resource allocation processes that are key to the success of established companies are the very processes that reject disruptive technologies:
Successful companies want their resources to be focused on activities that address customers’ needs, that promise higher profits, that are technologically feasible, and that help them play in substantial markets. Yet, to expect the processes that accomplish those things also to do something like nurturing disruptive technologies .... is akin to flapping one’s arms with wings strapped to them in an attempt to fly. .......

Retail in 2020 understood their unfair advantage in relation to Online Retail: Local Fulfilment.
Synergies occur when retail and data companies collab fueled by the (consumer) data.
The more Data the better, for consumers, producers and retailers.
Connectivity is still an issue in retail, but we are at the beginning of the 5G era.
Also through our colleagues at Hybrid Airplane, we have found a solution on how to use their hardware as ''repeater'' and upper the availability of connectivity services
How we eat changes what is produced.
Nestlé Group's earnings dropped by 4.4+ Billion Swiss Francs from 2014 until 2018.
But guess which segment has next to double the earnings of the water branch with 16.188 Billion and 6.2% more than the previous year ( 2017; 15.247 Billion Swiss Francs)?
Nutrition and Health Products.
Consumer, according to Anuga Horizon 2050, decided that there core criteria to a healthy diet are :
- Environmentally & People friendly -
- Biodiversity -
-Nutritious - of food is important ...
 - Affordable -

And this leads us to the - Ethical - questions.
A healthy diet makes at least good use of food waste.
All in all, it is to say that the foodservice industry turns into a food care industry because the consumer does want the experience but also the human connection that one has to their nutrition style, "you are what you eat" is today an affirmation to one's character.

Address the Challenges: Describe how your Vision will address the challenges described in the previous question.

The Shopping App for us consumers allows to filter by qualitative (bio, eco, seasonal, regional & ordinary) together with individual criteria (Vegan, no nestlé, Diabetes-friendly etc.) and find the desired products in 15 mins around geolocalisation.

You can then preorder (Click'n'Collect) or go InStore, Scan the products per InApp-Scanner and self-checkout.

We enable the single retailer to visualize who is his local customer persona through the provided Coockeroo SaaS CRM.

In our CRM, the menu button is composed of a carré with a triangle in it, similar to the Varta logo, but from right to the left.

It serves as a resume and overview of the business status quo.

Our staff app and the staff daily tasks and accomplishments should be shown and organized via the CRM Web App as well as saving the work schedule.
The work schedule is organized via forecast through Python & backchecks their actual working hours.

Each retail staff member can manage their own daily tasks and accomplishments.
In case of illness leave, it can be used to sent doctors certificates.
If the staff member is on duty, it facilitates reordering and recall management in symbiosis with the CRM and customers shopping app as well as behaviour.

Coockeroo CRM automatically list products of Food and Near/ Non-Food Producers perfectly allocated into and all over its retail chain!
For Producers like Unilever or Coca Cola Group, the advantage is that this analysis goes as deep as to individualize products as well as services on different cultural backgrounds and their expected utility with respect to reduce cost, maximize revenues for retailers and Producers, as well as maximize customer happiness and engagement.

Predictive Analytics will help you to recognize needs (e.g. Icecream) half a year in advance to shorten R&D as well as continuously optimize production quantity as well as quality.
We manage to be better than similar data-driven CRM companies (, through direct consumer and Staff access via our Apps and CRM.

High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.

Coockeroo builds retail up to nowadays standards.
Across the food supply chain, the way we consume & produce food until now does not enable everyone to make a living and destroys the planet.
The reason why the International Space Station can spot the fruit and vegetable fields in Spain is their plastic tarpaulins and because of...retail customers.
The people leaving their cities in sub-Saharan Africa to work for 2€ an hour and living on  2 square meters in Slums, that's European retail too.
Farmers and their families have the choice to produce at a continuous loss and pay their sub-Saharan African hired field servants a lover wage than 2 euros an hour,
or:Lose the whole yield of the year, because retail finds a farmer that produces at a greater continuous loss.
The retailer common argument is still:
Yes, but the consumer in mainland Eurasia profits because of the low prices!
The issue is that a little over 80 % of retail chains main focus customer groups (e.g. in Germany) are price indifferent, because relatively wealthy.
94 % value extremely a balanced nutrition, which includes social standards, because relatively wealthy.
But this doesn't hinder retailers to throw away 1/3 of production.
European Retail throws away 1 in 3 sub-Saharan African lives.
Coockeroo transforms retail and its supply chain in such a way that everyone makes a living while at the same time saving the planet.
Predictive Analytics will help citrus-fruit farmers and their families to recognize needs half a year in advance, pay workers well, as well as continuously optimize growing quantity as well as adapting quality.
This maximizes their revenues as well as maximize customer happiness and engagement with their brand.
That's Coockeroo      -and what's for you?

Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?

The Mayan predicted nothing but had a clear worldview about the future and how civilization should & could develop together - in symbiosis- with nature planning 500 to 1000 years in advance.

In 3 major World Religions, the radical change through '' Apocalypse''
(= Germ:Aufdecken (uncover) / Engl: Revelation (Germ: Offenbarung) occurs if the following criteria are fulfilled.

War.           Check
Death.       Check
Pollution.   Check
Disease.     Check

They just didn't know about the upside:

Interconnectivity!           Check
High Living Standards!   Check
Technology!                    Check
Resource Abundance!  Check

We are able to use global opportunities to reduce global threats, we need to think about general strength to encounter our weaknesses. (TOWS Technique)

Revelation is base for Re-Evolution.

Our economical systems transform themselves because we changed too and with it our (eating) habits.

Using our high living standards that cause War (e.g. for oil), Death, as well as Pollution, gave us the time to think about and build Technology like the Internet (Interconnectivity), that have not been possible without resource abundance.

This creates even better living standards for more people and even better technology.

This last technological wave enables us all together to stop the now nonsense that was needed, to think about the general input-output function.

More wealth, clean ''Mitwelt'' (= nature in a human a-centric worldview; ) and peace is only created if the very base is restructured.
If you translate Mitwelt into English (Engl.: Fellow Men), the worldview is still human-centric.
In this example, you see how cultural reflexion is important to move on.

Coockeroo is an example of how to stop the now nonsense and an answer about how the general input-output function can be restructured.

I think, if the current issue of resource allocation can be solved, the question of how to nourish the world is not as important as it is today.

Thinking of alternative protein sources like insects or stemcell meat, in combination with 3d printing of food or Vertical (Hydro) Farming, will contribute to the drastic reduction of the human footprint on nature.

Our economic model capitalism is not the end, it is the beginning.

First of all, as described in the point "Challenges (2020 and 2050)":

"Governments need to understand that a Capitalist Society cannot accept the hindering of innovation and if hindered, its detrimental impact on our environment just to save companies from going bust.
Rupture brings room for new things, but instead of regulating new things, build the infrastructure and guidance on how they emerge."

If Lehman Brothers (28.600 employees) or AIG, the coal or steel industry, or GM or any big corporation goes bust, let them go bust.

Hard but fair.

You say, this ain't possible?
Schlecker went bust and had 2012, before announcing chapter 11, with 36.000 employees.

The root cause for domain failure is the procrastination of doom.

"You must not socialize debts and privatize earnings" is the 11th commandment because this means slavery and robbery in one if disregarded.

Selling this to employees/taxpayers and saver is lying to yourself as well as to others.

The problem will not go away, governments just invent new techniques on how to use technologies (digital payments) to ensure that even themselves will not be able to flee such a monetary system.
Instead, a lot of loopholes will be built in, contradicting the general purpose.

Coockeroo, by tokenizing retail in a second step (an up to 2 200 billion € market in Europe alone), will give consumers the opportunity to change fiat money into an anonymous digital currency similar to Monero.
Retailer and producer pay each other with this reserve currency.
This currency is backed by the product value in retail.
Prices stabilize completely through this new people's reserve currency.
This has a direct effect on farmers and the plannability of crops to grow and revenues to expect while respecting nature.

A second example of how to stop the now nonsense and an answer about how the general input-output function can be restructured.

There are things that work really well for everyone and some do only work for a few on a cultural technological perspective.

Diversity of thought including extreme opinions are important for an inclusionary society so that everyone can identify and does not feel leftover, nourishing his/her hatred.

This is key to identify things that work really well for everyone and some do only work for a few, even if a cultural idea, that will work really well for everyone, is only part of a minority.

You can apply this in general, as well specifically on Food Industry

Create products & services as well as technologies with respect to solving hard problems.
For any technology to succeed the applications need to be loved by customers.

The biggest issue in future is education.

If a highly interconnected society (5G and further) with level 4 automation through augmented intelligence (= Artificial Intelligence), 3D Printers that print you a house, has not learned how to find a purpose in life, this society will not survive.

The school has to focus on the ''Selbsterkentnis" = Self-awareness and "Selbstverantwortung" self-responsibility of an individual, in order to set free his creativity.

In German you might say :

"Unternehmertum ist Selbstverantwortung!" = Entrepreneurship is self-responsibility.
etw. Unternehmen =   to do smth.,  because you find an Antwort = "answer" to smth on your own (Selbst).
Now the sentence in English:
As an Entrepreneur you find on your own an answer to an issue, that's self-responsibility.

Only then, society will create more technologies and wealth than in previous decades.
It doesn't mean that everyone will be an entrepreneur, but at least will be able to take care in a self-responsible way of his/her decision & actions based on her or his self-awareness.
You can apply this in general, as well specifically on Food Industry

Policies are there to build the infrastructure and guidance on how technologies emerge.

Luxembourg jumpstarted a Start-Up Ecosystem in 6 years out of nothing, because they concentrated on building the infrastructure with current assets and did build guidance on how technologies and Start-Ups ( ICT & Space) emerge.

Of course, it is is a small country but to pivot from traditional banking into Health Tech, beeing Forefront of Eurasian SpaceTech, PropTech, FoodTech, as well as Financial Technology is not easy, in 6 years.

Also, we do not have to forget that countries, that skipped the first industrial revolutions, are catapulted through connectivity into today.

Companies like are already addressing the currently faced evolution.
Those economies will thrive much faster and create even better technologies because they are facing harder issues to solve and will come up with different approaches.

The opportunity to make money by the outsourcing of tasks of the West will handicap the global technology output because of a delay in execution capacity.

You can apply this in general, as well specifically on Food Industry

Food and agriculture in your Place

Coockeroo will enable young audacious food companies to find automatically their customer group and create more wealth than ever before.

We grow into a mature market that is an online-to-offline virgin, setting free up to 50% more € per square meters.

It to say that generally, agriculture in Europe will more likely contribute to designing biodiverse habitats for flora, fauna and wildlife.
Compare it with the Alp farmer in Switzerland.

Challenges facing the Food System you’ve selected

People in decision making positions at retailers or in big CPG's fear to make mistakes.
They do not listen to customers and lose money, because of the fear to lose money if they change current product lines.

We at Coockeroo help them to automate the decision-making process on category management.

The big issue is that lawmakers will probably try to break up such a platform and its market power, stating that there is no diversity and competition.
Coockeroo aims to cover more than 1 400 Billion € in Sales over its platform in 5-10 years, uniting Europes (incl Russia) retailers and setting them under the dictate of the consumer.
Coockeroo will more likely higher the total sales volume due to more products finding their way to the consumer, which now will not or hardly succeed through the buying power of retail chains.
We democratize the access to an utterly closed industry through the ''Retail API"/"R.API"
and enable others to build digital companies offering B2b services through our App Store of the CRM.

Winning the Food System price will reduce food waste to half what it is today, as well as get us together in the Spiel of building additional service companies in the RetailTech, HealthTech, InsuranceTech, HardGoods, AgriTech, Commercial Real Estate sector as well as smart living services and smart home appliances based on detected consumer persona in the mid- to long run.
