Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.
We solve an issue of high rate of exportation of sesame in Mali. The field of sesame is neglected in Mali. There is a need for processing of Malian sesame. Only 5 percent of Malian sesame is use for consumption and the 95 percent is exported outside the country. So, Agrowomen will fix this huge exportation issue by adding a value to this local product. An industrialization of the field of sesame is needed. We fight again food security and women and young joblessness . Several enterprises buy and export Malian sesame, but it not common to see processing unit which process sesame seeds in order to add value to it. Aware of this, team Agrowomen decide to innovate and industrialize the field of sesame by targeting Malian market, by choosing women as an integrated part of enterprise Agrowomen, by using ICTs in order to better satisfy our clients. Moreover, 61 % women are active in the agricultural sector in developing countries. Women and girls economic empowerment in rural areas is a serious issue in Mali. Women don’t profit much about their production. They are facing issues such as lack of access to land and credit, lack of revenue from their work, and lack of training. It is obvious that Women economic empowerment can influence not only girls ’education but also rural development. Access to quality and natural food is also a huge issue. People are affected by heath issues such as: obesity, heart-attack and hyper-tension.
