Based on a report of app usage by ComScore, 55+ Baby Boomers with smartphones spend more time on Facebook than any other app.

They still use Yahoo mail and enjoy using online versions of Solitaire and Scrabble (Words With Friends).

Skype is popular and this is probably a way for them to communicate with their children and grandchildren.

The apps in the top ten by usage for this age group are (in descending order):

Facebook Messenger

Pandora Radio

Yahoo Mail

Words With Friends

Solitaire by Mobilityware

Google Maps

What is a provocation or insight that might inspire others during this challenge?

The over-55s use apps but use ones that have been around for awhile e.g. Yahoo mail, possibly for specific purposes e.g. Skype for calling the grandchildren and are modern versions of games they play e.g. Solitaire. Can we use this knowledge to develop products/services that are easy for the over 55+ to use and that they have a degree of familiarity with?
