Professional Intern Program - Employee Human Matching System

Who is your idea designed for and how does it support the dreams and obligations of those 50 and older?

The idea is designed to enable 50+ individuals with quality experience to participate in short-term programs to benefit from intellectually challenging projects, while providing a rich experience gateway to corporations participating in the program.

The idea is establishing a professional internship program and manage the execution of the program using probabilistically weighted skill and task matching system. The success of the program is dependent on three major components: Participating Firms, 50+ individuals with a varied & rich experience, and a platform to match individuals to respective task. The goal is to establish short projects (6 months) leveraging various work tasks. The platform then matches individuals respective to the work tasks and availability to form an experience team targeted with a singular objective of meeting the defined project goal. 


Benefit for the Organizations: The organizations can tap into a varied rich resource hub to achieve an well defined output with measurable objective. This program can further be tailored and tweaked based on successive requests from different partner organizations


Benefit for the 50+ individuals: Inputs from the research highlights that a huge number of people wants to continue participating in the world they live in. Financial management is just one component of a healthy life, the other is a goal oriented active participation. The program not only provides financial rewards for their participation but also help them transfer their knowledge / skill into the workforce while guaranteeing an objective oriented active participation.


What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

Interest gauge from the employer community and as well as leveraging human research data from those 50+ in order to measure demand and supply for the professional network

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

Research and input to further explore the idea. I would love to partner with people with varied skill set to test and design this idea further.

I work as management consultant for an large asset management firm. I have helped budding companies traverse idea generation to execution definition, as well as helping them create a balanced framework to measure and track success.

How would you describe this idea while in an elevator with someone?

The core idea is based on the belief that financial planning for 50+ is a "holistic approach" and therefore requires us to rethink based on the lifecycle of the end-users. The idea centers' around a platform that help create projects (typically short-term) and enables users to apply to be part of the projects, helping reinvest intellectual capital. These projects could be single or team oriented.

How might your idea be transferable to a large number of people?

This idea is easily scalable both in a micro & a macro orientation platform, i.e. we can customize project selection and assignment at a local scale (micro market) replicable across the globe as well as a macro global market enabling users to participate on projects globally. One of the key fundamental drivers required is the transaction and payment model to be used in the platform. We envision a digital XAC/payment system, such as the Sperig(tm) platform to power the system.

How do you plan to measure the impact of your idea?

The initial phase, designed to gain adoption and stickiness, will be measured by the participation level, using metrics such as monthly active users (MAU). Incresingly we would focus on user economic health, using metrics such as avg. income generated, as well as transactions completed within the platform.

I really like this idea. People 50+ usually have too many ideas and there is no way where to store, share, discuss, offer andgain money out if it. Just to add a service and a constraint:
First the service: How are you going to ensure IP is handled? Or do you think of certain new license models?
And now the constraint: How are you planning to overcome that usually people at 50+ are considered being less creative, less innovative?
