Who is your idea designed for and how does it support the dreams and obligations of those 50 and older?

This is for everyone who is standing at the doorstep of age 50 or more or retired/about to retire.

As we all know, freelancing is one of the ways of self-employment where one can earn a good income while providing their services. People who were devoted their good time of life in earning money and fulfilling the responsibilities of their family can opt for this.

Anyone standing at the doorstep of age 50 or more or retired/about to retire who have to fulfill their financial dreams and obligation can choose the way of freelancing. Through freelancing, anyone can get a different kind of job as per their choice to engage themselves and for getting a good financial support.

There are few professions like programming, web developing, designing, writing, data entry etc. is easily available for freelancing at a good rate. The only thing which an individual has to do is to find a good platform where he or she can freelance the desired job at a good rate.

The main advantage of freelancing is that one individual can perform more than one job at a time and as per their convenience.

In today's market, there are numerous companies who are looking for a good freelancer at a good rate and the best thing in freelancing is that there is no age constraint, anybody who is ready to earn money while sitting in bedroom or post retirement can go for this.

Another idea similar to freelancing is online volunteering where an individual can get the registration and start delivering services.

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

Well, we can go out and do a survey that how people are looking this way of earning.

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

Awareness about earning money through freelancing and some technical support to the people of age 50 or more.

Hi Sukumar,

This a very good idea to keep them active! Will there be any help such as assistance to support them? there might be difficulties for them to use the computer, especially 70s+ age. How about holding a training course to teach them how to use find and
appliy freelance, also help to the make CV and Portfolio if necessary. it can be a "renew" programe for elderly people.
Hope it would be useful.

Hey Chan, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, I do support your words that a preliminary training is required for the elderly people to work online. If we able to teach them the ways and process of making CV,Portfolio, online registration etc that would be beneficial for them.

Hi Kate,

In this idea, I am stating about one best way of earning. I have reviewed both the ideas mentioned by you and they are really good. In "Hobby Hire" Matt mentioned a good idea to start a new company however I have focused on the online jobs.
