By the time that I was thinking on what the idea should be; I reflected back on the interview I had with Annociata and realized that there is a need of giving a loan to women like Annociata. They are visionary women with the passion to work hard and sustain their families; not only their families but also people around them. From their home banking system called “SANDUKU LA NYUMBANI”; it is an evidence that those women can be the change agent in the community once supported.
Therefore, I think that it would be good to help them with financial skills which will play a role in making their home banking system looks more appropriate and safer. Briefly, I would like to argue that the idea of giving loan to women like Annociata who is a tailor in the kakuma community would enable them to be financially independent . I believe that there are many women in the kakuma refugee camp community who are ambitious and hardworking but still are not financially self-dependent. Some of them need to be financially accompanied and other need to be taught on how best they can earn and save the little they get.
Help me to think on how best can we help women in Kakuma to be financially self-dependent.
