The process of building proper, safe, and sanitary facilites for healthcare workers to care for sick patients in rural African communites is a monumental task.

An alternative option to building new health care facilites, would be to use hospital ships. Thses ships could visit nations hit especially hard by the Ebola virus. The ships provide a nautical platform, equipped with modern hospital amenities that would allow for much better health care to be provided.

The great news is that these ships already exist. Orgainizations like Mercy Ships have been rendering aid to third world communities through uses of their hospital ships for over 20 years.

Guinea and Sierra Leone are two of the nations that have been greatly affected by the virus. Both of these nations are costal (eastern Atlantic). Perhaps the most realistic and quickest way to provide medical care to the people of these nations is via hospital ships.
