ADDING A DOSE OF CHILD-ORIENTED HEALTHCARE FOR CHILDREN SUFFERERS OF EBOLA
COMFORT THE CHILDREN MORE: TOYS/MUSIC/HUMAN FACE~
Building on A Pi's ideas of child-adapted care, this point seems necessary for avoiding huge emotional scars for the survivors and for providing comfort to the desperately ill.
Here are some visuals/links to build on this idea of what more cheerful PPE might look like as well as notions of HUMANIZING HEALTHCARE.
Of course, locals (psychologists, educators) would need to give input on to CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE solutions
TOYS: link to one center's guidelines for toys for sick kids (for ebola, the toys would need to be discarded & replaced with a new item upon discharge)~
>>>> knitting clubs could knit & donate comfort toys in duplicate for during illness & upon discharge ?
MUSIC: could soothing (culturally appropriate) music be played certain hours of the day in children's zones ?
