Who is your idea designed for and how does it enable older adults to live their best possible life by preventing falls?

It is designed for people 50+ that might lead a very sedentary lifestyle. By facilitating exercise and/or physical therapy programs targeted to seniors even before they retire can help create the routines and right mindset for them to keep going as they grow older. Just as companies are setting up perks and flexibility to attract new workforce, they should also look for ways to prepare their retiring workforce for their next stage in life.

Create a different mindset in aging adults, that focuses on getting fit and healthy sooner as well as create initial contacts and networks to physical therapy options early on.

By creating special programs targeting 50+ adults while they are still part of the work force, could develop the change in mindset and set healthier routines that will be easier to follow as they grow older.  People would be able to network, create new acquaintances with common interests that would become a support group to keep up with the process.

As physical therapy is one of the most "robot-proof" jobs, it would also be a great incentive to retrain displaced younger workers to a career that pays well (75-85K/yr)  and will have a lot of demand over the coming decades.

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

We could try out some physical therapy classes at the community centers around the neighborhood.

What skills, input, or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?
