Who is your idea designed for and how does it enable older adults to live their best possible life by preventing falls?

Our idea is designed to people who have their relatives not so close to them, but always there to help. It can bring help in any kind of situation as long as there is someone to come for. In extreme situations it can even get help from their country healthy system

Our idea consist of a simple device that can be attached to anything that the person already uses, that means: it can be modeled as a ring, a necklace, or even a simple tie or belt. With this device, in case of danger, the people can seek for help with their close relatives or even the healthy system of their city.

By the simple press of a button, they can ask and get help. Our idea fit in 2 goals: Re imagined Devices and Stronger Together.

We  aim to solve the problem of elderly people not seeking for help because they feel different when getting help: using things with an odd design, or such. With this device, they will be able to be safe, get help and still be like they are used to. This also softens their stigma.

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

Making simple prototypes and testing the reaction-time of those who could help in case of danger.

What skills, input, or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

Someone who could help in the creation of the device and also some sort of fashion designer that could help at attaching the device to a person. Because our main goal is that people feel safe without feeling different.

How long has your idea existed?

Any chance you could upload an image or images to go along with it of what your device might look like? Images help grab attention and tell a story. You should be able to use the Edit Contribution button on the top of your post and follow the instructions to add images from there. Looking forward to seeing more of your inspiring insights on OpenIDEO.
