There is this place I love in Bangalore; it is known as the "Courtyard Café". People usually go there and work on their laptops or relax with their friends and pets. It is an open café, but they also have most of the area covered, in case of rain. The café has a foosball table, pool table, a rock climbing wall and also some area with sand and two goalposts on either sides. The cost of the food is also pocket friendly; this works well, especially for, students.
Now imagine having this place allocate some space and time once a month to allow us innovators and local officials to come innovate. Innovators can come by and work together in an encouraging ambience, they not only get work done but also get to socialize and play games for fun. Food could also be free if these meetings help the café garner a lot of customers at other times during the day.
Possible ways to make it happen:
These sessions can be sponsored by companies or the government so the ideas can be implemented back into their community or used to help a local company.
Or better yet, have fundraisers that are based on certain challenges the community wishes to tackle. This can help raise money and also help rope in more people to tackle these challenges. Innovators of all ages can be welcomed, it can be a great way to have a family get together.
Also, charities for different causes can come together to raise money and awareness to get many such precious meeting grounds. This way everyone is aware and we can help each other. One world family!
