During our End Of Life conversation in Zurich last evening, we had the great privilege to be joined by Silvan, one of DIGNITAS's board members. DIGNITAS is a swiss not-for-profit members society, which advocates, educates and supports for improving care and choice in life until life's end. Through this and its court-case and political work, DIGNITAS became the spearhead for the worldwide implementation of ‘the last human right’. Silvan was kind enough to prepare a short document for the openIDEO challenge, and we are very pleased to share it here.

What is a provocation or insight that might inspire others during this challenge?

"Suicide attempt prevention has become an important part of DIGNITAS’ work. Aid in dying and suicide attempt prevention is linked to each other. People who have a choice do not need to turn to ghastly methods to end their suffering."
