Connection to something bigger than ourselves

Peace and comfort in sights and smells

We are often so busy in our everyday lives, we forget to smell the roses, contemplate the majestic mountains, or notice that a dear friend is in need of a smile; we forget the wonderfulness of it all when surrounded by our friends and family at dinner. When we do slow down enough to take in our surroundings, we find peace and comfort in these sights and smells. They often help us to feel part of something wonderful and bigger than ourselves; to feel connected. I hope that my death is like that…connected, not isolated.

What is a provocation or insight that might inspire others during this challenge?

Can we plan for death in much the same way we plan for a birth? We learn about birth our entire lives including the biological and psychological changes that occur all along the way - why not do this for the death process?
