Who is your idea designed for and how does it reimagine the end-of-life experience?

This idea is designed for people passing away that: - Don't have the time or energy to go an experience the real world one last time - People that want to have a final peaceful look at their past - People that would like to visit one last time their favorite places in the world - People that want to listen to all their favorite songs, or assist to a concert - People wanting to hear their relatives expressing their feelings

The idea is: to create a 3D screens room, with a comfortable lying chair in the middle, where dying people can come to watch, feel, listen, experience one last time their favorite things in the world. Several options would be available.

1. Revisiting his/her favorite place in the world -  they sit in the chair in the middle of the 3D room, and cameras bring them on a tour there.

2. Assisting to a virtual concert of loved artists through the same concept.

3.  Team of expert create a video montage with elements of the person past (photos, movies, favorite songs). They sit in the middle of the room and have a peaceful look into their past.

4. The team can also produce a video montage that includes interviews of the relatives and friends. They could watch the people they love talking about them, telling stories or just expressing their feelings. (It would be a bit like assisting to the speeches of your funeral when your still alive).

Idea for Feasibility and Facilities:

- For the idea no.1 to be realizable, we could create a community of travelers, giving them 3D cameras, and they would film all the places they are visiting. Then, we match it with dying people wish and needs.

The client could also have a live experience with the traveller who is actually in the country/place. They could communicate in live, exchange and connect.

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

I could just test the idea by showing people normal videos of places they like, with their favorite songs, and see how it trickles emotions. I would also be interesting to make video montage of interviews of people relatives to see how they react in seing others talking about them.

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

- Research on how to make the idea feasible also in terms on cost and resources. - Collaborate to explore more experience the dying could have throughout a 3D arena. - Identify new opportunities and clarify the limitations of such idea. - Analyse the market (interview people we know) to understand if this would be a pleasant idea for the dying.

I think this is a great idea, from a technology point of view.

You can achieve this with Virtual Reality headsets which Samsung are already selling and 360 degree personal cameras which a  varierty of sellers including Samsung have release earlier this year.

By putting on a VR headset that person would be immersed in a 360 view of their favoruite locations they choose
