What problem does your innovation solve?

I am trying to address the issue of safety for these young girls who feel unsafe going to schools and travel longer distances but in case there is a learning center nearby their homes, even parents will feel secure to reach to their kids easly and follow up the learning processes of their kids. On top of that some kids drop out of school due to their parents not knowing the essence of their education but these centers can also be used to educate their parents during the weekends.

Explain your innovation.

Practically, this involves a project of formulating learning in the locals the way people gather in their villages for meetings, it can be the same way these kids can be gathered together to learn and be given enough briefings concerning their lives in a formal and curriculum based education the way any other school set up is done but this can be done in those villages where young girls move kilometeres away from their homes going to school where they face different challenges which later on discourage them and may drop out. it will also involve doing a field study in identifying areas where schools are scatered in different for the relevancy of the project. Furthermore, after identifying such areas then the process of looking for such girls with problems starts door to door in order to talk to them and their parents and this will solve the problem of drop outs for most kids as it will provide easy school accessibility to those students .

Who benefits?

The first beneficiary of the innovation now will be these students who will start getting learnings from these centres. Their parents will benefit as their will start sending their kids to school with ease as the learning centres will be in their neighborhood. The innovation will target not only girls but the major emphasis will be put on girls. The age should be from 5 years old upawards The client for this innovation will be the homes in the villages

How is your innovation unique?

Currently i am identifying the places where those schools can be allocated depending on the way their kids suffer traveling miles from their homes going to school. No other organisations addressing this issue as most of the organisations focus in already developed areas instead of focusing on poor villages. What is different with my innovation is that it will reach the typical village kids who look to be abandoned in one way or the other.

What are some of your unanswered questions about the idea?

Some of the unanswered questions are on how to get qualified teachers who can accept to work from those deep villages for the kids to get quality education.

Tell us more about you.

I am working on this innovation alone ,but if i can a partner , it can be of a good investment

What is the primary type of emergency setting where your innovation would operate?

  • Natural disaster
  • Armed conflict
  • Prolonged displacement

Thank you very much for your comment, and I look forward for more insights towards this innovation .

And as we all know girls in the villages in the Democratic Republic of Congo are suffering due to the instability that has been unceasingly happening in this country and this leaves many of these young girls drop out of school, some of them are raped and others become child soldiers without their intentions.
However, with this innovation it can help to educate some in few villages ion how to become responsible citizens through practice in small projects and paying tuition fees for some in different boarding schools but with the emphasis of the Village Based Learning Center which can equip them with side skills outside of what they learn from their formal schools .
This center can act as the incubating centre to  help them grow responsibly into good citizens who can generate ideas towards their development in the future with us helping them to have small income to start small projects as they undergo their lessons.
