Activated Thinking in Pedagogy for School Emergencies

Activated Thinking is a concept where the school syllabus should teach children how to do things rather than compete with things.

What problem does your innovation solve?

Activated Thinking should be added in the syllabus and the pedagogy. For example, we should help children to learn how to swim rather than give them a demo and ask them to swim in a pool of other kids only to test who comes first. Swimming is a skill and it can be applied anywhere. Likewise this concept can be applied to anywhere anytime. This is in-built in a child during the upbringing in other words this will help children to activate themselves to respond to emergencies.

Explain your innovation.

Implementing Activated Thinking in pedogogical methods will help children respond to emergencies. I am writing a research paper and talking to people who are in the space.

Who benefits?

Children in the emergency areas and any child who is in emergency situation will benefit from this method. They will be able to respond to the emergencies and dangers occurring to them. Specifically, this can be at any school around the world where age of the children will range from 5 - 17 years. The mind of the girls will change when they are educated in a specific manner. Take a look at the above images to learn more on the process.

The success of this project can be measured when we find good volunteers and teachers to implant this teaching method in schools. Necessary tools and learnings will be posted as I continue research to help them.

How is your innovation unique?

The usual method of teaching around the world is through formal education where children are sitting in a classroom and learning things. Very rarely they are involved in practical education. Even if there is practical learning there is very little application learning and one size does not fit all as we humans are all made differently. Therefore with activated learning a child can imbibe the thinking in herself to respond to external stimuli.

What are some of your unanswered questions about the idea?

Finding educators and volunteers who can spread the effect.

I am an engineer and a product manager working at a company in California. I was also one of the winners are the youth unemployment challenge at OpenIDEO and bringing impact there. I am originally from India.

What is the primary type of emergency setting where your innovation would operate?

Emergency Setting - Elaborate

Girls are driven out of schools to stop education due to various reasons and if they are taught the thinking method even for 1 hour session this will help them keep up with the perseverance. A competitive mind will help them excel in class among the others (may be) but an activated mind will teach them life and how to face it with courage and continuity.

Where will your innovation be implemented?

Anywhere in the world - this is the way the pedagogy should be to prepare the class. A training needs to be set up or teachers / volunteers who are trained should spread the word.
