Our team is based in Bangalore, India. The proposed solution is targeted at parents leading a busy and stressful lives and hence we believe this group blog can be used worldwide including in the United States. We also want to add that the solution can also be localized to suit the needs of new parents in United States and other countries as and when we learn more related insights.

Group blog aimed at solving the needs and challenges faced by new parents with advice from experts and other experienced parents etc.

We think a group blog is a cost-effective and feasible solution. A new parents life changes largely with the birth of their child. All of a sudden, there is an additional desire to excel to both personal and professional fronts which can be stressful. This can also mean that the new parents should be ready to sacrifice parts of their life which they took for granted previously.

A new parent faces a range of issues. If we can exploit the power of User research and Synthesis to empathize with the new parents and let our experts to present their opinions and solution to the defined issues, we think we can come up with a useful content. In addition to working on group blog, we also plan to publicize the group blog by using innovation and cost-effective marketing techniques like growth hacking and in-bound marketing.

What problem are you aiming to solve? (3 sentences)

1) Tensions between personal and professional life of a new parent. 2) Time management and organization skills to the new parents. 3) Mental well-being of new parents during stressful times.

Explain your idea (5000 characters)

Our idea is a group blog targeted at solving issues and challenges faced by new parents. The group blog will not be restricted to professional tips and advice from early childhood and other psychiatrists, but it would also contain content from time management experts, health experts, experienced parents etc. We also plan to update the blog according to the new trends and changes in the context in the lives of the parents regularly.

New parents leading busy and active lives and also those parents who are looking to better manage their time.

What kind of impact will your idea have? (1500 characters)

With the help innovation marketing strategies(growth hacking and in-bound marketing) and design thinking, we think the our solution of a group blog can have a huge impact. We think our group blog has the power to persuade and inspire new parents to lead healthier and better lives.

How does or how could your idea impact low-income children? (1500 characters)

Needless to say, internet is ubiquitous and is literally available in the finger tips of low-income families.

Our concept is innovative because we are planning to fill the group blog with content based on the real needs of new needs which would be the result of User Research and synthesis.

We plan to publicize the group blog by using innovative and cost-effective marketing techniques like growth hacking and in-bound marketing.

Feasibility: Where are you with understanding the feasibility of your idea? Describe what you’ve done so far and your plans. (3000 characters)

Our team has the required skills to do the User research and Synthesis to find the real needs. We also have a multi-disciplinary team and we can also exploit our network and outside to find experts willing to share their opinion and expertise of the problems.

Business Viability: How viable is your business model? (1500 characters)

We think a ad-based business model will work for a group blog. We can first prototype with simple, cost-effective websites and then try to upgrade to better platforms as and when the website gains more popularity and traffic. We will also try to gain expertise experienced in creating and running a group blog,

HCD: How have you used human centered design to build or refine your concept? (1500 characters)

We have used qualitative user research and synthesis to come up with the idea. We interviewed new parents and requested to narrate their experiences and also tried to understand the context of their lives, especially the changes in the context(both surroundings and behavior) right after becoming a parent. We plan to continue to do the same to respond to changing trends and context of new parents and respond with content accordingly.

We are group of human-centered designers in Bangalore, India interested in creating a thriving community. We also want to add that we are in the process of trying to officially start a OpenIDEO chapter in Bangalore/Bengaluru, India.

Our partner would be I for Indya, a design thinking consultancy in Bangalore, India who can guide us with their knowledge and experience of design thinking.

As you consider your next steps, what kinds of help could you use? Is there a type of expertise that would be most helpful? (1800 characters)

Yes, we would love to talk to people with the following expertise 1) Early childhood psychiatrist. 2) Time management and productivity experts. 3) Those who are experienced in creating and running group blogs
