The proposed mobile app is meant to be used by new parents who are busy with their professional lives and hence we think it can be used worldwide including in the United States.

We think that our idea aims to solve an important problem faced by new parents, which is to help them overcome the pressure felt due to the additional responsibility of raising a child. Since this is an important and also an untapped problem, we think a solution in this space can truly be a game changer.

We have found that every new parent feels a sudden surge in responsibility due to their just-born child. Also, the need to take care of their new-born child with utmost care at all the times of the day demands a whole new level of organization and prioritization of everyday tasks. Hence we propose a mobile app that lets the parents know whether they are spending the right amount of quality time both at work and also with their new-born child & other loved ones.
What problem are you aiming to solve? (3 sentences)
From our experience of interviewing parents, we found one common theme which is that every parent feels more responsible because of their child birth.
Imagine a parent trying to pamper their disturbed child who woke up in the middle of the night due to some issue. Imagine a parent trying to excel at work/career and also feeling guilty that they are missing out on spending time with their loved ones.
This sudden change in their in lives and context requires assistance and proper guidance.

Priortizer4Parents mobile app helps new parents to organize and prioritize their busy and active lives so that they don't feel overwhelmed with their tasks and sacrifices.
It can be used by new parents to
1) Prioritize their personal and professional life.
2) Organize their tasks along with suggestions to balance their personal and professional life.
3) Track each task and sub-task in terms of personal and professional life.
4) Provide pro-tips related early childhood education and parenting based on the schedule and other inputs provided by the parents.
The features of Prioritized4Parents mobile app includes
1) Scheduler to plan the activities and tasks and an feature to check whether that schedule leads to a balance between personal and professional life.
2) Inquiry into the finished day and a feature to check whether there was a balance between personal and professional life in that day.
3) Provide Pro-tips based on user's inputs. For example : If the user is seen to be spending more time at work, there might be a pro-tip to remind the importance of sacrifice "With great power comes great responsibility. With great responsibility demands tremendous sacrifice".
We also want to add in order to target and persuade new parents to use our proposed app, we plan to use innovative and cost-effective marketing strategies growth hacking and in-bound marketing.

The beneficiaries of our idea are new parents leading very busy and active lives. They can use priortizer4parents mobile app to find a healthy balance between personal and professional life.
From my experience, we found that the lives of new parents changes to a large extent after the birth of their child.

Since its an innovative idea solving a real need, we believe this idea has the potential to make a huge impact!
By 2020, we expect to see 1000+ installs of the mobile app.
How does or how could your idea impact low-income children? (1500 characters)
Since smartphones have become highly ubiquitous nowadays, we believe that our mobile app idea has the potential to be used by low-income families as well.
We will also strive to use as little text as possible and be visual as much as possible in order to surpass the language barrier.
Innovation: What makes your concept innovative? (1500 characters)
Our concept is innovative because it solves an important and untapped need faced by working parents nowadays(and probably more so in the future).
There are of course daily scheduler apps available but we are trying to sync our app to the needs of new parents and hence empower them to provide the necessary early childhood experience to their wards.
Scale: Describe how your idea could reach a significant number of end-users. (1500 characters)
We plan to try and use different social media platforms to publicize and scale the idea. In addition to publicizing about the idea, we plan to publicize the need and importance of early childhood education along with providing/proposing our solution.
We also have plans to use growth hacking and other targeted marketing techniques to publicize and scale the idea.
Feasibility: Where are you with understanding the feasibility of your idea? Describe what you’ve done so far and your plans. (3000 characters)
We plan to start with low-fidelity prototypes ASAP and work our way through digital and high-fidelity prototypes to help us prioritize the features. Being from the tech industry and also being part of a multi-disciplinary team, we think this idea is very much feasible.
Business Viability: How viable is your business model? (1500 characters)
We plan and will strive to use In-app advertising business model so that the app, along with all the features, can be used for free . But we also want to add that, since we are in the very early stage of prototyping, we might also need to consider freemium business model based on the cost effectiveness of the final features list.
HCD: How have you used human centered design to build or refine your concept? (1500 characters)
We have used qualitative user research and synthesis to come up with the idea.
We interviewed new parents and requested to narrate their experiences and also tried to understand the context of their lives, especially the changes in the context(both surroundings and behavior) right after becoming a parent.

We are group of human-centered designers in Bangalore, India interested in creating a thriving community.
We also want to add that we are in the process of trying to officially start a OpenIDEO chapter in Bangalore/Bengaluru, India.

Our partner would be I for Indya, a design thinking consultancy in Bangalore, India who can guide us with their knowledge and experience of design thinking.
