If you took a left at next Thursday, and went all the way down

If you made a song about nothing, and never wore a frown

If you tickled a stardrop, while wearing your mother's blouse

Then you could find your way to the Rainbow House

The Rainbow House is tucked in the wrinkles of your sheets,in the folds and crinkles, where nothing is too neat.

Its in a little crickets legs,as he goes cheep cheep cheep.

And its in the toes of a little baby, asleep without making a peep

But you can visit any time you like, the doors are always open

You just have to find your way there, you just have use your imagination.

The rooms are strange,or so they say

Green and blue, one is even grey.

Grey like a storm, and green like a fieldBlue like the ocean, and one room is slightly tealed

The yellow room is my favorite, its warm just like the sunThe red room is just beside itits full of toys for having fun

The black room is for sleeping, and the green room is full of sludge,But the brown room is across the hall, and thats where they bake fudge!

The pink room is full of candy,The orange room smells so clean,The purple room has tons of flowers,With scents to help you dream

So close your eyes, and wish your heart away,to the Rainbow House inside your head, and stay for the day

The colors are what you dream about,The rooms can be filled with anything

Just think about a colorand you can start believing

Come back anytime, but bye bye for now

See you next time in the Rainbow Houseand we'll see what fills the rooms a day from now!

Describe the intended vision for your early childhood book manuscript in 1-2 sentences

A colorful story. Happy with bright colors.

The Rainbow House

How has this book been informed by early childhood language development research and evidence? (response minimum 250 Characters)

Yes. It has colors and words that can teach children what things can be associated with certain colors. I have worked with children aged 2-3 and that affected the included elements. I watched one of the TED Talks about early childhood development regarding empathy, although that did not have a heavy influence on this manuscript.

Tell us more about you / your team

I am a Graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Product Innovation. I have a background in Human-Centered Design and I would love to be given the opportunity to have funding to pursue this book further and have human centered design influence it's contents. I think the format of this book could be augmented and changed to be location-specific. I think we would be able to go to communities and augment the contents of each "room" in the book to be specific to that city, country, etc. I'd love to be able to spend more time on this, but right now I don't have the funding to allow that.

Interesting fairy tale that introduces colours.
Maybe we need the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? LOL!!!
