THE LOVE DIARY--"WHAT LOVE CAN DO”

Dear Jolene—Your Mama and Daddy wrote this diary for you to keep and treasure. We began this diary when you were a new baby. We thought that you would like to know how much you are loved.

And what is love?

LOVE is the color blue. Blue is your favorite color. We chose blue for the cover of your diary.

LOVE is your Daddy who drives the big brown delivery truck to provide for the family.

LOVE is your Mama who goes to night school so that she can get a good job.

LOVE is the party we had for you on your first birthday. One red candle decorated the chocolate cake with white frosting. Your name, Jolene, was written on top in blue icing.

LOVE is the clothing that you outgrew, which we give to those in need.

LOVE is your Nanna who visited every day when you were sick in the hospital.

LOVE is our friend who drives you to the doctor and dentist.

LOVE is our neighbor who lends us milk and bread when we can’t get to the store.

LOVE is the policeman who protects our apartment building.

LOVE is our dog, GUS, who makes us smile.

LOVE is our church pastor who gives us hope and inspiration.

LOVE is our prayer of thanks we give to God.

LOVE is the happiness we share with others.

LOVE is the new little brother, who is on the way.

LOVE is our family, now and always.

A warm and caring story for the little ones.
Interesting to explain the different "shades" of love - that even the dog can love (and they do!)
Nice introduction to a baby on the way. New arrivals can stress toddlers.
Good luck to us all.
