Emma of Tioga

One, two, three. Let me tell the famous story of Emma

Four, five, six. Emma is from the forests of Tioga

Seven, eight, nine. She is tall and is like a fairy

When she says Peekaboo, lovely dears come to graze.

Emma of Tioga is the town’s most loving lady.

She lived near forest with tigers and Bears;

She walked in nights alone talking to Moon

She was boating with pets in the River Delaware

She heard many Grrrr sounds in forest without fear;

Ten, twenty, thirty. Emma of Tioga!

One afternoon, there was a knock on her door and many guests came.

Oops, Emma had no fire-wood to cook.

She checks with neighbours; and purchase was expensive;

She goes to forest all alone dangerously.

Forty, fifty, sixty. Emma of Tioga!

She goes deeper into the jungle; collects dry fire-wood,

Emma was ready to come home and was happy, but suddenly she heard Grrrr sound.

Grrrrrrr…the sound came even closer, and Emma saw a huge Bear attacking.

Now she pushed the Bear with hands, the bear ran away.

Seventy, eighty, ninety. Emma of Tioga!

Will it come again or will it not? She waited….and the Bear came dangerously to close

Emma climbed the tree, and the bear climbed the tree.

They both went up and up till the end. Then Emma pushed, the Bear fell down and vanished.

Emma took the firewood and reached home; all are happy to see Emma back and danced.

Grandma hugged Happy Emma of Tioga!
