Peek-a-boo!

I see your head. Touch your head.

Peek-a-boo!

I see your shoulders. Touch your shoulders.

Peek-a-boo!

I see your knees. Touch your knees.

Peek-a-boo!

I see your toes. Touch your toes.

Zoe and Zak love this song,

“Head, shoulder, knees and toes, knees and toes

Head, shoulder, knees and toes, knees and toes.

I love my body.

I love my body.”

Zoe says, “ I love my body.”

“ I take care of it.”

Zak says, “ I love my body.”

“ I take care of it.”

Zak and Zoe both have a loving heart.

Peek-a-boo.

They sing, “Head, shoulders, knees and toes.”

Describe the intended vision for your early childhood book manuscript in 1-2 sentences

We parents, caregivers and educators need to help our children to learn about our own body and nurture them with love from infancy, which is a very important fundation to help a person build up strong self-esteem when they grow up. Also, the earlier to make strong claims , the better to protect kids from abusing and scandles without knowledge. Here is an example, A 3 y/o girl I ever worked with able to say : "My body is precious. No one allows to touch my privacy without my parents' permits."

How has this book been informed by early childhood language development research and evidence? (response minimum 250 Characters)

I love this site :www.zerotothree.org/learningcenter, talks about “Development always starts from Building Warm, Positive, and Nurturing Relationships.” I also totally agree that they say “ to 0-3 years old, early connections last a life time.”We know we have a very mysterious brain. Our brain at this age level works just like ‘A sponge absorbs water” without any discernment. Anything Good or Bad, to the brain of this age are super easily unconsciously rooted. Anything unconsciously store in our brain will be unconsciously growing when we grow older. Anything unconsciously store in our brain will be unconsciously impacting every decision we make in life.So we parents/caregivers have the priority to choose what kind of EARLY CONNECTIONS to provider our little ones, which means to tremendously benefit little ones’ life in the future, or, to tremendously ruin our little ones future life without consciousness. We parents/caregivers really need to be cautious about THIS!

Please describe any familiarity you may have with Philadelphia and its residents? (optional question)

How could I not be too excited!? I almost got a teaching job offered by a school in Philadelphia 10 years ago! I love to learn more about this 1st city which ever announced the Independence of the USA. I belong to a very active online book club located in Philadelphia, and joined them three years ago. There are 52 people in the club. We read every day, and always enjoy all the good thoughts and knowledge. For many times, they invite me and I would love to join some great events and visit that beautiful city and beautiful people, but not able to make it. I feel this Early Childhood Book Challenge just tailor-designed for my little early childhood books! :-),and will make my dream true.

How have you crafted this manuscript to resonate with and/or reflect the experiences of those living in urban contexts? (optional question)

WISE parents/caregivers/educators always know that kids need to be educated starting from infancy to love their own body and to respect the other's body. The earlier to be involved, the better to be rooted. The best way to make it happen is to show our heart-felt appreciation to them through fun interactive stories and games. The more we follow this way, the greater we help a child cultivate high self-esteem. Through this series of interactive story-telling process, parents and caregivers will have some exciting time with kid’s giggling, and a child will get improved both in language and in happy emotions, and nurtured to take good care of their body.

Tell us more about you / your team

I am a member of writer and illustrator in SCBWI( Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators). I have been a language teacher to enjoy teaching children for 2 decades with my art skills. I hold an IL Paraprofessional Educator license. I have done a lot of research since 1992, hands-on work with 0-6 y/o kids at early child language development and healthy emotion development through homeschooling programs. I am amazed that children’s brain from 0-3 years is as powerful as a sponge, and it absorbs any languages much faster than any other ages. I believe that the best age to start reading is from 0-3 years old, but not easy to find these sorts of fun picture books. Since 2014, I have been focusing on writing for 0-3 years old and caregiver/parents , self-published a few, but still looking for the best platform to publish more. I am also an ‘Artist in Residence’ at Heritage Museum of Asian Art, Chicago, IL, as well as, a member of GAP(the Guild of American Paper cutters), PA.

Provide an example visual identity for a look and feel you might like to achieve. ( (optional question, 3-5 visuals)

I enjoy making the series of picture-book stories. Also, each story in the series can deifinately stand alone as a complete story.
