Hello Baby

How are you feeling lately?

Blessed? Glad? Lovely?

Stressed? Mad? Grumpy?

We have different experiences every day,

And yet we could feel the same way.

We need prayer & loving care.

Let’s enjoy our time together!

Baby, please give me a smile.

What do you want to learn awhile?

Read “ABC”?

Sing “Do Re Me”?

We have different learning needs.

And yet we need to take some risk.

If we face difficulties, remember we have two hands & ten fingers.

Let’s use them to give “high five” to encourage each other!

Baby, let’s give me a kiss!

Tell me which neighbor do you miss?

North? South? East? West?

Black? White? Brown and the rest?

We come from different cultures and families.

And yet all aim to live healthy and happily.

We speak, smell, touch, taste and see using our preferences.

Let’s respect our differences!

Baby, show me your nose!

Which attractions do you propose?

Liberty Bell Centre? Independence Hall?

Reading Terminal Market? Philadelphia Zoo or all?

We pick different attractions according to the weather.

And yet it will be more fun to go together!

We live in the beautiful City of Brotherly Love.

Let’s appreciate the variety from all of the above!

Baby, show me your thumb!

What do you dream to become?

Teacher? Singer? Doctor?

Preacher? Dancer? Lawyer?

We have different talents & passion.

And yet we all need compassion.

We are the same and we are different.

Let’s live a fulfilling life to make a positive difference!

How has this book been informed by early childhood language development research and evidence? (response minimum 250 Characters)

Research about childhood language development: (1) importance of interacting with the child: I have used questions to guide the caregivers to engage the child and it could evolve and expand conversations each time the caregivers share the book with the child. (2) vocabularies: I picked mostly tier 1 vocabularies and some tier 2 vocabularies (3) character building: I have included some important belief in the message, which are important & valuable to the caregivers and the child. Research about Philadelphia: - different races in the city with some people losing their identities - a poorest metropolitan area of the country's biggest city Research about care-givers: - sometimes they felt quite bored & insufficient, hope the manuscripts could provide some positive energy & empowerment to them

Hi Ivy,

Interesting submission. I was wondering if you could name a country in Africa since you put Africa in line with specific countries?

Good luck!
