Eliminating Disability Stigma (EDS)
EDS aims to implement an after school program that can educate students to assist persons with diverse physical and cognitive abilities.
What problem does your idea solve?
Many individuals lack the knowledge different disabilities consist of as well as ways to address a disabled person. By educating young adults we are changing the future for these individuals by giving them the education needed, tools in working with the disabled, and hands on experience to add on their curricula.Explain your idea
EDS will be an after school program. It will be broken down into three different blocks; education, coping methods, and lastly working with an individual hands on under adult supervision.Who benefits?
High school students will benefit by learning how to care and becoming sensible for the disabled as well as to feeling competent in serving a disabled.How is your idea unique?
By taking EDS to the classroom we will be reducing stigma by educating young adults.Tell us more about you
