"Star light, star bright, first 5 star rating I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might... Should I buy? Hope it's alright!" Trust grows from belief and, consumer trust is the first point at which the 'public' encounters trust issues, hence it is a pivotal point for mass awareness. If you don't believe in the system - you cannot trust it. We must takes steps to maintain systems that retain integrity and trust. All strong systems, relationships and societies are built on these things. Today, rating and review systems of all types from shares, stars, thumbs and views are, at best manipulated and at worst prone to being 'hacked' and distorted. UP-DATE: with the emergence of voice activated devices and especially on-line shopping choice is, ironically, more limited via curation. Hence, major retailers are using 'rated' items as default system when generic items are ordered i.e. 'Order me diapers'. Thus - this is something that needs to be addressed for base reasons from fairness, competition to transparency.

Who would ever have predicted that a 'click' farm might be more lucrative than a chick(en) farm? A simple image depicting that; likes, clicks, claps, shares, stares and even stars can be bought and sold. Get 'em while their fresh - and they're 'organic'!

HP has raised an interesting problem, that with our creative input, we may help fix. I enjoy the fact that we can provide visual tools for our cyber friends! To an extent - I see my basic technical understanding as a benefit - as complexity is limited to a layman level.

Thanks for the comment. My passion is coming up with ideas. I could probably concoct 100's of concepts in this manner. Due to the format I am visualizing these quickly and spending 50/50 time on the visual / underlying thinking. Design-wise I like Star quality as it is pleasant to look at and combines my favored hand scribbles with a personal pet peeve. But, as per the brief - the compilers and new dimensions seem to speak to the target audience base a little more. However - my favorite is Human Interfaced. It seems to capture a shift happening under our noses.

Thomas Grimer your contributions and sketches are all equally thought of and interesting. I'm wondering from all the sketches you've submitted so far, is there any you prefer more than the others? Keen to hear your thoughts!
