Sketch 1 (1,500 characters)

In today's society, information represents power. Through the use of advanced practices, individuals can have access to private information concerning a particular person, organization, or state. Monetary resources, such as personal credit cards, can also be easily obtained with hacking operations. In a manner of speaking, hackers have on the palms of their hands the possibility of acquiring large amounts of data, including messages, emails, bank accounts, classified information, etc. The lack of safety and privacy makes this specific issue a great threat toward people's security. Because of this reason, this issue needs to be addressed as soon s possible.

Sketch 2 (1,500 characters)

Every device and electronic system is intrinsically connected with one another as a result of the Internet. This can be compared to a complex grid of information written in code that is not easily visible to the eye. An individual can have access to this data through the use of advanced programs and viruses that are carefully designed to be inconspicuous and even appealing to the eye. These programs are used to break into the complex grid of data. The hacker can access what he or she pleases; thus, the cyberspace becomes an unsafe environment. Millions of people's personal information and bank accounts can be acquired with a "click." What can I do to protect myself from this incomparable danger? The illustrations seen above denote the power hackers have as well as how people's security is in constant peril. Because of this reason, policies must be implemented to make the cyberspace a safe and innovative environment. "Take a look at Cybersecurity" is the central message of this project. This has to be done not only at a government level but also individually. Each person is responsible for promoting healthy habits in the cyberspace.

What have you learned through this sketching process? (1,000 characters)

From this sketching process, I have learned the importance of promoting a healthy culture characterized by responsible habits toward technology. Cybersecurity is an important issue that must be addressed on a daily basis in order to make the cyberspace a safe environment for all human beings. In today's society, information is power, a power that can used for good or bad. Hacking practices are an illegal way of accessing this data. They can represent a threat toward people's security and well-being.

Tell us more about you. (1,000 characters)

My name is Marcos Herrera. I am an undergraduate student in the University of Texas at El Paso. In my opinion, imagination is a powerful tool that provides a distinctive perspective toward global issues and can be used to create innovative projects. Because of this reason, I try to use my imagination on a daily basis to learn more about the world and find opportunities to help others. Through the use of drawing, I express myself in a unique way and address personal doubts, goals, and dreams. Creativity is one of the best tools I have as an individual.
