Zeros and ones running down the screen - hacking is not just a game with numbers but real science.

Sketch 1 (1,500 characters)

This sketch illustrates the absurdity of the common "hacker" image. No one works at night, wearing hoodie and mask and hacks systems by letting ones and zeros run down the screen. Skilled hackers have a profound understanding of information systems and use/modify/create special tools for their purposes. This makes hacking a real science.

Sketch 2 (1,500 characters)

This second draft puts more emphasize on the different sides. It is not complete yet - there should be added more aspects here: For example the left ("science") side should also show other people working (contradicting the idea of the lone wolf hacker) and maybe there could be a healthy smoothie on the hacker's desk. The right ("fiction") side can show more clichés such as leftover pizza, empty bottles, dirty clothes lying around etc.

What have you learned through this sketching process? (1,000 characters)

Many IT-related jobs are loaded with clichés and it is always worth looking beyond those.

Great implementation! I just thought you could even expand on the idea, showing different opposing "facets" of a hacker in one face. Each slice showing a different aspect. Starting with multiple earings on one side, proceed with scientific glasses, punker, guy fawkes, ans business headset on the other ear... just an "idea". Do not let yourself get limited by it!

Daniel, I really like your idea of multiple facets in one face. That's definitely something to explore further.
