Sketch 1 (1,500 characters)

In the first image at a quick glance people can identify the need for cybersecurity, I have Visually represented the cyber security with the help of a hacker fishing out personal information, money, passwords from different sources. A hacker is seen in black silhouette in a bot with a fishing rod which indicates the identity of hacker is anonymous and it happens in dark corner of the web. The boat contains harddrive which showcases personal information like images, passwords, credit card details etc. The money bag indicates that financial information obtained was misused to steal wealth. The fishing hook steals information from various sources like data centers from banks, corporate, the hook is waiting to find security loopholes to fish out information. A man is seen with pendrive, this means a lost pen drive physically also will cause a data breach not only digital fishing of information. A man is seen using laptop, buying goods online from mobile and transaction at an ATM in all these scenarios a hook represent that if a security loophole exists from the end user then the confidential or personal information can easily be extracted by the hackers. The boat is sailing in the ocean so the space below represent the digital ocean, the shield represent the need for security tools like firewall & antivirus, it reduces the risk of stolen information. A police helicopter is chasing the cyber criminals indicating faith in cyber police and need to file the complaint.

Sketch 2 (1,500 characters)

In Sketch 2 I have added a variation, here you can see that when the pen drive was lost, when information was stolen from laptop and data was compromised from mobile they have alerted the cyber police, the information shared from various sources helped the police identify the pattern of the attack and in the visual you can see police hanging on the hook laid by the criminals, this represents it is possible to trick the cyber criminals and trace them back to the criminal and bring them to justice as a result in the image the helicopter has really closed in near the cyber criminals, this conveys that if the community stand together and help authorities by alerting them and providing them information it will help build better cyber security.

What have you learned through this sketching process? (1,000 characters)

I have brushed my visual design skills and understand the complexity of telling good stories, it is time consuming thought provoking.

Tell us more about you. (1,000 characters)

I am an innovator from Bangalore, India I have won 50+ Innovation awards from some of the best companies in the world & from universities like MIT for solving technical challenges & business problems across a vast variety of fields, I am a data analyst profession, cyber security enthusiast & a mechanical engineer. I use cross pollination of technologies across industries to solve problems in a innovative manner and likes to break down complex problems into simple elements. I am also the founder of an innovation portal called givemechallenge.com where I list innovation opportunities across the world including sites like Openideo and encourage youth to take up challenges and solve them. I also have a considerable experience with visual designs as in most of my projects I need to clearly illustrate my ideas before it could be made a reality.

Why are you participating in this Challenge? (750 characters)

I have gone through the entire brief and did some intensive research in this sector and I really felt the need for a change in the visuals that were used to represent cyber security, I think the different design principles mentioned in the guide was helpful in aligning the thinking and it is really possible to convey better information to public as I believe a picture is worth a thousand words.

Dima Boulad Thanks for your feedback, yes the current illustration using stock images for public use from pixabay is for initial visualization only, the final submission has to be worked on later. Since you have mentioned that even stock images for public use cannot be incorporated in the illustration, I am back to the drawing board and I will work on drawing the same illustration on paper and upload it in next few days.
Meanwhile I was also think out few other sketches.
Thanks & regards
Aadhithya
