Humanizing the digital and digitizing the human

I'm connecting the abstract of the digital world with humanistic shapes and visuals in this visual language.

Sketch 1 (1,500 characters)

I tried to combine the layeredness and complexity of the digital world with the human world. It will result in an image that can be complex but to the point at the same time. This is an example, but imagine lots of different ways of abstract digital patterns and ways the illustrations can interact with those layers, or for example move between different layers showing the complexity of cyber security. Also resulting in an intruiging but positive image.

Sketch 2 (1,500 characters)

Various examples of layers or digital abstractions and ways they can be combined with illustrations that could tell a story.

What have you learned through this sketching process? (1,000 characters)

That it's very important to be aware if your visuals have negative or positive associations for the viewer.

Tell us more about you. (1,000 characters)

I'm a 30 year old graphic/digital designer from Netherlands, living in Amsterdam. With my graduation projects i was selected as "Dutch Design Talent 2015" by an online magazine. A year after graduating i started my own company in visual identities/visual languages and digital design. I like to work for creative projects that can have a positive and meaningful impact on the world. I love and am inspired by all kinds of (visual) language. From books to poetry, to photography and art, movies/series and music, theatre/dance, nature, food etc..

Why are you participating in this Challenge? (750 characters)

I like the idea of making a difference by translating the complex information and stories into visuals that do worth to that, and that people actually understand and makes them learn more (or makes them curious) about the subject.

Hello Jelle Kok Happy to see your contribution to the Cybersecurity challenge. How would you consider pushing this idea further? We've had a large number of very interesting creations, have you had a chance to browse other submissions? There's a very interesting conversation around cybersecurity going on!
