We all painted the same painting!

Every 7 of 10 (an heuristic guess) primary school student in Turkey painted the almost same idea in art class!

This is a typical painting for the National Sovereignty and Children's Day in Turkey. Nobody knows who was the first guy painted this but we all know that every year in the week of 23th April our teachers asked us to paint for National Sovereignty and Children's Day, and maybe not every year but at least once we all painted the same idea. Maybe because of we got bored of it maybe we had lack of creativity.

Hi Eray
I think the reason behind of drawing the same paint is neither boring nor lack of creativity. The reason behind this is the lack of "a real education system." I think, Turkey is in the same category with 3rd world category on the notion of creativity in education. Basically, our education system is lied on memorizing and ultra-nationalistic heroic stories. To be honest, we, in Turkey, should completely change our education system.

I don't know the Turkish educational system but I agree with Kenan that the explanation is not the lack of creativity of Turkish children but the lack of permission or "structure" to allow them to explore different options. See the great inspirations by Ben on the role of starters and structure:
