Creative Confidence Enablers

Who or what are the enabling forces currently working to foster creative confidence?

Are you a parent eager to instill creative confidence in your teen or young adult? A teacher keen on fostering this fluency with creativity and innovation in your students? Tell us how you’re currently trying to support young people in your life to hone their creative confidence. What’s working – or not? What have you learned? What tools, supports, programs etc would help you be successful?

If you’re a teen or young adult, what’s already happening in your world around creative confidence that we might learn from and get inspired by?

What organisations are shining a spotlight on the value and importance of creative confidence – whether it’s through a curriculum, an after-school program, a summer camp or something else?

My wife and father-in-law hacked together a drawing table with a continuous roll of paper so both of our daughters -- the older and the little one -- can easily draw whenever they want. All they have to do is pick up a marker or crayon and start.

Elizabeth Gilbert has a helpful way of thinking about the creative process and genius. It can reduce expectations and the anxiety that sometimes come with them. It can enable people to focus on the creative process and not worry about the output.

A place where youth can freely showcase their creativity using a familiar media tool to curate their story of teen opinion, art, and culture – all to create confidence while leaving their mark on society.

An alternative education method pioneered in a poor Mexican school advocates for a radically non-structured, exploratory approach to learning. The result: 1 student received the highest math score in the country, and 10 were in the 99.99th percentile

Lego's allow us to build our thoughts... literally. We think something and can build it. But why is it more popular for Lego's to be used by kids? Why don't adults sit around a pile of colorful bricks and build?
