An education system which promotes creativity among students, both in school level and at university level. If we ask a children what they want to be they would say something honestly but if we ask a young person about their dream, most of them are not sure about their own dreams or just chasing their parents’ dream. Education system sometimes fails them to think or to pursue their own dream. I have not come across that many subjects in my whole school and 2 university degrees where creativities were heavily promoted to encourage students to think outside of the box rather focus was given to some theories and application of theories.
Some assignments encourage students to promote ideas but not with 100% freedom as students are required to fulfill some specific requirements (such as some pre-defined methodologies).
My idea is to make education system as a learning experience through creativity and deeper understanding, not a ticket to get a job. I am pretty sure almost all of us at one point being put off for thinking outside of the box and was told to follow the procedures. Promoting and rewarding innovative ideas from early childhood would make the society more entrepreneurial.
Why do we really need some 2/3 hours writing test for every single subject to demonstrate someone’s competency? How about instead of writing a test, demonstrating the whole idea in a practical way? Instead of giving a whole day lecture about some topics, how about showing it on work field and the list can go on.
Classroom environments also need to be creative, sitting inside of a classroom, surrounded by 4 white walls are not helping young people at all to appreciate what Mother Nature has to offer.
