The Donation

We could certainly make a difference for many students if we start a donation forum for everyone to help out struggling families.

Tell us about your idea

Pretty much what can happen is we start a donation on a website like gofundme.com and have people at the more fortunate parts of Illinois donate to help the less fortunate. I think if this is advertised well enough there will be plenty of people who would be happy to donate. This could help many families get back on their feet in this time of crisis.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

Lecturing should definitely be left in the past. I'm tired of teachers talking about something nonstop when no one really cares what they are saying. I think class should be interactive and have you doing something rather than sitting and listening to a teacher ramble on about unknown historical events.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

I am Lucas Kovarik of Glenbrook North and I am doing this because of my PLTW teacher Mrs.Rose.

What region are you located in?

  • North America

Where are you located?

It is a fairly wealthy Illinois suburb named Northbrook. There are lots of trees everywhere and it's not a city type area.
