Parents imbibe teaching as a way of Life

Tell us about your idea

Parents before COVID-19 wake up to get their kids prepared for school and drop them off or wait up for the school bus to pick them up but that has changed in the last 3 months.

We are now obliged to partake in the cycle of getting involved very directly in our children's every day life to ensure they come to speed on keeping up with the school calendar.

On this note , my idea is for parents to have an App that gets them more involved other than the teacher making long calls to remind Parents of outstanding homework for the kids.

Parents are made to have a solution on their phones or through the web where your child's curriculum and school plan is uploaded.

We then have an idea and a practical guide on how we can work with the teachers to have an unified system where the teacher educates the parents on how to transfer the knowledge to their kids and this has to be deliberate whereby parents are made to be responsible for the progress for their kids and keeping up with the standards and expectations.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

Teaching without cautioning the kids when they use swear words at each other.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

Hi Nwanneka Osho-Smith -- I really like your idea, where we are helping to instruct parents on how to be better teachers. My idea is Text4Success: Parent2Child and there is another one on this forum called TextMessages for Creative Early Learning. Would love to have your feedback on it. I do believe that we need to start providing education tools to help their children succeed in school when a teacher is not present. Thank you for sharing--Karen

I will read through it and see how we can build synergy around it and flesh it out. I look forward to this collaboration.
