Tell us about your idea

Most of the teachers are using online tools and technologies for the first time especially in developing countries - like Pakistan. As we know teachers are one of the most important component in the education system. The current crisis has brought financial un-certainity, stress and mental health issues for everyone and teachers are equally burdened in these times.

As the teaching is moving online, the digital divide in developing countries is putting stress on teachers much more than the countries where technology adoption is higher and support networks are available. In developing countries -  , teachers have  limited access to the internet, very limited digital training, and most important completely lack access to a network that can provide them the support in current crisis.

Research has also demonstrated the link between social relationships and many different aspects of health and wellness. The stronger a person has support network, there are more chances that a person excels and thrives.

We're creating a community of the technologists that support teachers in adopting the online teaching tools and provide support in the issues that teachers face.

We've built some guides for teachers to use word, powerpoint, whatsapp, google meet, Microsoft teams and other tools. The next step is to build a facebook group where teachers can seek technical and mental support from the community that specialises in technical and mental support .

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

Limited support for teachers in advancing their skills or seek support from tech communities.

Faisal. Thanks for submitting your idea to the challenge. Can you share more about how you would distribute the materials to teachers? Would your service be free or would there be a fee? You might also check out this idea by Ivy Chiu -- Teacher Support Community which deals with a different dimension of what you are talking about. Perhaps you can collaborate on some sort of comprehensive platform for teachers.
