Staying Together

Schools could host frequent virtual "hangouts" in order to replicate the normal socialization that occurs during school.

Tell us about your idea

During the regular school year there are passing periods and lunch that allow students to socialize during the school day. If there were similar times that students could use to connect with each other virtually I think it would make e-learning much more sustainable. Working alone for several hours isn't conducive to great productivity or mental health, and I think this could help change that.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

I think that we need to reevaluate how homework is assigned. If it is really necessary for students to work for hours after school then maybe we need to elongate the amount of time spent in school instead of cramming more work into a shorter amount of time.
