Tell us about your idea

The idea is to create open source phone application which can be used offline to access content which helps students learn through modules which use programming to create solutions, express and play. Also the platform lets one collaborate between learners

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

Pre-covid learning was very synchronous, time bound and space bound and no flexibility in the time one understands the concepts. One learns to score the minimum to pass and go to the next class without learning the subject matter completely. Indian education system still believes in rote learning and instruction method of teaching instead make it more of play and collaborative pedagogy instead of traditional techniques due to rapidly changing times. Have blended learning where instead of teacher its facilitators online and offline.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

I am currently pursuing Masters in Design and this is my graduation project where I am looking at 21st century skills and mainly at computational thinking. I am an Information Technology under grad and am an educator teaching secondary school children Math. My inspiration has been my teachers, students and peers where how they created their knowledge and taught it.

What region are you located in?

  • South-eastern Asia

Where are you located?

I reside in Bengaluru a technology hub of India where the innovation in business, technology and social spheres is rapid.

Hi prem sameer
I'm Sarah, one of the Community Coaches. Thanks for your contribution to this challenge!

I'm curious to learn more about what this proposed platform would look like and how it'll work? If you have time, you could perhaps sketch or build a prototype and share it with us here? As your thinking around this idea grows, you can update your post at any time by hitting the Edit Contribution button at the top of your post.

Good luck!
