Tell us about your idea

I was incarcerated up until Friday May 1st at San Quentin State Prison. Inside we were lockdown due to Covid-19. As like any other prison lockdowns, we are confined to our cells with only basic electronics such as AM/FM radio and television with over the air channels. As we sit inside all day we watch over 80 over the air channels where reruns and over paid programming is shown. Why can't broadcast television stations air programming created by local school teachers on a rotational basis throughout their school district and basic school subjects including Physical Education offered free to the community.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

In class learning. Students and teachers should have the option of leaving classroom learning and going outside and continue or incorporate distance learning for people with disability.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

With the lack of technology in prison, sometimes it's best to go back to the basics

What region are you located in?

  • North America

Where are you located?

Oakland California. Just got here four days ago from prison.
