Tell us about your idea

Students wont gain all the skills they would by sitting in a class if we switched to remote learning. Students also, myself being one, put aside work until the last minute because its not important to them anymore. Student also still need to learn how to socialize and talk to people face to face instead of through a screen. They also need to learn test taking on paper instead of a computer.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

I think testing and electronics, i think we use electronics to much when we should be learning how to take things on paper even though i do unstand that the world is switching to computers instead of paper its still a skill we should have. And testing should not be a thing, i beleive its only testing your memory instead of actually benefiting you like more practice would be. And lots of times people fail tests when really you know the curriculum.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

I am a student at round rock high school, and i was inspired by my teacher Mrs. Harrison, but being a student in the school also gave me insight on how me stress, spend hours up late at night, dont get sleep, and are nervous over something that really doesnt test what you know its only goal is to fail you, they out trick questions and trick answer choices, so ive learned that tests dont truly test you of your knowledge.

Hi Joshua! Thank you for your submission. How lucky you are to have Tiffanie Harrison as your teacher! I'm curious what ideas do you have for getting students more motivated to complete their online learning assignments? What would make you excited to engage and not wait until the last minute?
