This game-based, mobile learning initiative invites learners to come into the world of Crisostomo Ibarra and help him uncover the secrets of his town. Based on Jose Rizal’s novel, Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not), Kanser ng Lipunan discusses the context of the Philippines during the Spanish colonization era while connecting the main themes of the novel to the context of our times today. It is armed with features and learning tasks including word chests, message/voice chat function, and forums that aim to help learners fulfill three instructional objectives, namely:
a. practice the basics of media literacy
b. compare the issues of today with the issues of the Spanish colonial period
c. explain opinions on the themes presented in the novel

I'm a graduating instructional design college student this year, I've always been interested in developing education technology that touches on assistive technology, distance education, and health education. Anyway, this idea came from a course requirement. Seeing as how education is changng during these times, I thought that this proposal might help spark someone or anything in developing a distance educ tech that does not add unnecessary anxiety to students.
