Many teachers are overburdened because of the need to adapt to a vastly different teaching style, create materials from scratch and provide emotional support to their students. Moreover, they need to do so quickly, with max efficiency and they are treated as immune to the distress felt by everyone today.

A platform that allows teachers teaching the same curriculum/topics to share and work together on teaching material would save a lot of time and effort. This is not the time for everyone to create from scratch, but of intelligent use and sharing of existing resources.

This would also create a supportive community for teachers to collate a collection of advice and tips in areas such as maintaining work life balance and the unofficial role of counselors they have to take up.

Not only would this benefit teachers, but students as well. When teachers have enough time, they can focus on increasing engagement with students, communicate with parents and cater to individual needs.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

Many education systems teach all children the same subjects. The freedom that students have to choose areas they prefer to study through courses or books needs to stay.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

I am a student and I am very keen on finding solutions. I started looking through posts by teachers online hoping to find what problems they saw their students facing. However, I realized that I had, much like many others, unintentionally missed considering that teachers too were struggling. I think that as teachers drive the education system, mechanisms that allow them to work easily and efficiently are essential.

Where are you located?

Where I live, the major impacts of corona virus are fortunately lessened to due efforts by various organisations. However, there are still many hurdles that have to be crossed here and in the rest of the world.

Great thought behind this, apurva mishra ! I appreciate that your idea is coming from a place of empathy for teachers. What are your thoughts on how one might go about creating this community? Who would be some key players to help build this community, and what might be some factors that come together to help sustain it?
