Encouraging Student Collaboration

Teachers should still promote collaborative learning during remote learning and still assign projects that allow students to work together.

Tell us about your idea

As a student I learn best in groups and during remote learning there has been very little assignments that allow students to work together. Teachers could use platforms that allow students to talk to each other for example google hangouts and group learning could still exist in remote learning.

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

Remote learning has helped me realize how inefficient we are in school. I hope when we come back to normal school teachers realize how to make better use of time so students can do more work in class and use their free time to explore their interests.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to share this idea.

I am a student in high school and I really enjoy learning with my peers and just sitting in front a computer screen constantly has been difficult.

What region are you located in?

  • North America

Where are you located?

I live in a suburb of Chicago. I go to a highschool with around 2,000 other students.

Hello, Jake - Thank you for your crucial input as a student. Based on your desire for group, collaborative projects, I hope you'll be willing to look at my project, "Heart to Art," and let me know your opinion, and also to add suggestions. BTW, I lived in Oak Park and then Chicago for about 10 years, so I know your area well. Many thanks. Virginia
