I imagine that an edu-based subscription box would provide families of all income levels with an opportunity to inspire kids and enhance their learning. This free service would include both computer-enabled and non-tech options for ALL subject matters to ensure no families are left behind.

Each week, kids will be asked to select from a list of activities divided by subject (either online or via a slip that can be mailed in). This option encourages them to take an active role in their own learning.

Activities would be grade specific, offered at varying levels of difficulty to challenge students at their learning level.

The box would also include instructions to submit activities to the child's teacher, and recommended age-appropriate schedules. It could also include weekly tips (perhaps a one-pager to parents for each child's grade) on innovative/fun ways to incorporate learning into their child's week, based on appropriate subject matters, using things around the house/community.

To build a sense of community, boxes could also include community-based challenges (perhaps separated into towns/regions/school districts) to help kids connect with their peers.

I also imagine promotional opportunities with other services, like food delivery boxes... perhaps one of the math activities for the week is reimagined as a cooking lesson (measuring, fractions) and the box includes the necessary ingredients to actually bake cookies!

What part(s) of the pre-COVID school system do you wish to leave in the past? Why?

The lack of diversity in traditional learning for kids and the inability to recognize individual interests. When kids have a say in their learning, they take greater interest in the subjects. And keeping kids engaged is will have a long-term impact on the world (staying out of trouble, showing all kids that there isn't one way to do everything "right", and to be innovative in how they approach problems).

Hi Emily Searle
Thank you for inspiring us with such a thoughtful and creative idea. I was reminded of "Flintobox" which has a similar subscription concept of delivering education packages every month based on the needs of the child. One of my colleagues has been using it for his 4-years old son, who gets so excited using it that he finishes off all the activities within 3-4 days instead of a month. Hope this helps you build further on your concept!
