COVID-19 has emphasized the importance of getting accurate information to the right individuals, especially in a time where all our systems and resources are constrained. Under these restrictions, information efficiency is paramount.

In lieu of this, there will be a pivot towards 'information guides' and existing players/institutions have an opportunity to take on this role. It's not enough to put information out there; users need solutions that enables them to self-triage and identify the resources that apply to their situation quickly.

What is the need are you focusing on?

It addresses the lack of relevant and timely information on COVID-19 to vulnerable communities, with a key focus on access. Oftentimes, service provisions are decentralized (from non-profits, government, etc.) and users have to navigate a complex system to find information that applies to them. A chat-bot is an elegant and useful solution, filtering through an overload of information and presenting it in an easy and familiar manner. Beyond the consumer-side, it makes the ecosystem of service responders more efficient by effectively connecting those in need (demand-side) with those offering help/resources (supply-side).

What is the best example of business adaption you’ve seen in response to COVID-19?

Ample Lab's COVID-Bot is a chat-bot that helps people get accurate information on preventative measures, assessment centers, free mental health resources, community care groups, and FAQs in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area).
